The Gasparilla Pirate Festival dating back to 1904 is a beloved tradition in Tampa that brings the community together to celebrate its pirate heritage and enjoy a weekend of fun and revelry.
This annual celebration includes the invasion on a 165′ pirate ship, parade, brunch, Pirate Fest, children’s parade and the outbound voyage.
The festival’s highlight is the Gasparilla Parade of Pirates, which takes place on Bayshore Boulevard, one of the longest continuous sidewalks in the world. The parade features a colorful procession of floats, marching bands, community groups, and of course, pirates. It’s a family-friendly event with plenty of entertainment for all ages.
The festival draws thousands of attendees, both locals and visitors, who come to enjoy this unique and memorable experience that captures the spirit of Tampa Bay and pirate lore.
